This is a poem (a part of a poem) called Start Close In by David Whyte. I'm sharing this poem with you today because I want to talk to you about the strategies that you use to become visible, to become known, to get out there.

Hi, I'm Rionach Aiken, Visibility Mentor and Poetry Alchemist, and I'm here to support visionaries becoming visible. I work with coaches, practitioners, healers, change-agents, creatives, pioneers, leaders, to support you to become seen, known and valued, and overcome any visibility fears or any visibility blocks that you might have.

And one of the big ones that I see in myself, and in many of us, is a fear of not being good enough.

What this leads to is a lot of over-commitment, over-doing, being like 'an octopus on roller skates' where you just take on way too many projects, way too many commitments, and it's really hard to gain traction with any of them. Or to really feel connected to them.

And it's hard to be connected to those that you're here to serve when you don't really feel connected to yourself or the way that you're engaging with your visibility.

So I've come up with a process which is called Discover Your Aligned Visibility Pathway and I love this poem by David Whyte saying 'start close in, start with the ground you know,' because it's about coming back and discovering one or two potent strategies that you can fall in love with.

Just like you're in love with the work that you do, you can create visibility strategies that are just as deeply aligned with who you are.

So I love poetry, I love nature, I love speaking poetry, so here I am out in the woods, speaking poetry as a way to communicate, and this is a visibility strategy that I love! It's really aligned for me.
